Country Paradise Parklands Strategic Direction Report

The Better Cities Group were commissioned by City of Gold Coast to develop a Strategic Direction Report (SDR) for Country Paradise Parklands (Parklands) to guide activities for the next 15 years. The SDR defined a future management model, implementation plan and fifteen-year costed implementation plan.

The SDR details recommendations for existing and future use of the site up to 2037, noting existing assets within the site, current general use and coordinated community use including leases and licenses. The following elements were also developed:

• A vision for the parklands that is measurable and achievable.

• Strategy to drive optimised utilisation of the parklands by the community.

• Identification of an appropriate level of investment to ensure strategic outcomes are achieved.

• Identification of the most appropriate management model to govern the parklands’ future direction.

The outcomes of the project were informed by a significant engagement process which included workshops, structured interviews and an online community survey. The SDR was endorsed and supported by City of Gold Coast on 21 October 2022.
