Bega Housing Strategy

The Better Cities Group have been commissioned by Bega Valley Shire Council as the lead consultant in partnership with Development Directive and Think Economics to deliver a structure planning process for Bega and Wolumla. Recent acceleration in the demand for housing within the Bega Valley Shire has resulted in the prioritisation of planning for urban release areas to establish a development pipeline for housing supply in the area.

The structure plans will provide a framework to:

• Provide certainty for the development industry, government, service providers and the community to ensure future housing supply is well planned, adequately serviced, diverse, resilient and affordable.

• Set the strategic direction for how Bega Valley Shire Council and NSW Government agencies plan and deliver infrastructure in these areas.

• Give effect to Council’s adopted vision, desired future character and strategic directions for residential development in these areas.
